Plea deal prosecutor

Former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida (2005-2009) who approved the controversial 2008 plea deal, born 1969. The deal allowed Epstein to plead guilty to state prostitution charges, serve 13 months in a county jail with work release, and register as a sex offender — while granting immunity to potential co-conspirators. A 2019 investigation found the deal violated the Crime Victims' Rights Act. Acosta served as Trump's Secretary of Labor until resigning in July 2019 amid renewed scrutiny after Epstein's federal arrest. He claimed he was told Epstein "belonged to intelligence."
